Procrasination is a bitch. I’m meant to be planning an essay but what did I do? I did some ‘Milk’ inspired make up instead and took a few pictures (my laptop camera is really shitty).

I miss my read hair </3 back to the natural blonde…for now at least.

Having a very serious argument with myself as I try to organise another top 10. This is intense, just as I think I have finally picked my #1 something stops and yells at me telling me I’m wrong.

We could have a three way tie for the #1 spot this time!

And in the #1 spot: Bleed Like Me

What a powerful video, what a powerful song. A song that I relate to and a video I adore. I don’t know what I can say about it really as i think it makes its case for being my all time favourite video all by itself.

The image and the message that you never really know how a person feels or what they ate going through just by looking at them. Everyone has their issues and we all deal with them differently and no-one should judge. We are all unique. Strong.

A true anthem.

#2: Blood For Poppies (2012)

This video is vintage, surreal and so sublime. All of the things that influenced the video are things I love and it makes this video very special to me. From a film studies point of view this video is so fantastic. The mise-en-scene is so rich, the iconography is outstanding and i will admit i might have cried a little when I saw the video. It is perfect!

#3: Why Do You Love Me (2005)

Primarily I really love the neo-noir effect but also how the undertones of the video are portrayed. The strained relations, the agitation that the band was feeling around this time, although sad, makes the video so powerful.

#4: I Think I’m Paranoid (1998)

I love this video for its use of effects amongst several other things. The use of extreme close ups and distortion bring a sense of uneasiness to the video. The ECU of Shirley’s lips at the beginning and end reminds me of Beckett’s Not I … it’s quite bizarre yet in being so, captivating and intriguing.

#5: Sex Is Not The Enemy (2006)

This video (and song) is a world full of YES! I adore the behind the scenes trivia and footage that was released and the overall message that the video sends out in regards to sexual politics. It’s an anthem and I love it!

#6You Look So Fine (1999)

The surrealism of this video is particularly compelling and the choice to have the guys (although not the original idea) as silhouettes in the background i feel was a fantastic choice artistically  .
